A monthly online sangha of yoga nutz - teachers and keen practitioners!- through a dharmic, ecological, exploratory practice, inspired by plant life and the work of Robin Wall Kimmerer February 2 - July 31, 2025
Many of us are familiar with her popular books “Braiding Sweetgrass” and “Gathering Moss” where she weaves her scientific curiosity and her understanding of indigenous knowledge into extraordinarily appropriate tales for our time. Her new book, due out on November 19, 2024 is called “The Serviceberry - Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World”. This little book, along with her previous work, and other notable plant-based authors and creatives, will be part of our exploration through yoga, meditation and discussion at our monthly meetings and with online supplemental material. This 6 session program - from February - July 2025 - will be an opportunity to let the plant world guide us in uncertain times, and explore growth, decay, equilibrium and the natural cycles of our fellow voyagers on this amazing planet earth.
Each month participants have extra optional online support material for the theme, an opportunity to checkin with another participant, and the recording of our live long practice session along with a forum for deepening the conversation.
Robin Kimmerer says: “I could hand you a braid of sweetgrass, as thick and shining as the plait that hung down my grandmother’s back. But it is not mine to give, nor yours to take. Wiingaashk belongs to herself. So I offer in its place a braid of stories meant to heal our relationship to the world.”
Let us honor our collective plant wisdoms and both heal and grow together.
